What you will need:

  • Card or thick craft paper
  • Needle and thread (white)
  • Glue
  • Scissors

1)  Take a square of card measuring about 30cm in width. Fold a 2cm thick strip across the width of the paper and continue to fold in a concertina motion until you reach the end of the paper.

2) About 1cm from the top of the paper thread a needle through each of the pleats. Next pull the two ends of the paper together to make a cone shape and glue in place.

3) Cut out 2 semi-circles meauring about 10 in width, to use for the wings. Fold in a concertina motion. Using the needle sew the thread through each pleat of both wings to attch them to the body. Tie in knots at both ends or make a loop if you want to use it as a Christmas tree decoration.

4) Next cut out an oval shape from your card and glue onto the top of the cone to act as the head. To create a halo effect make a smaller concertina and glue to the back of the head.
