Make-up: Smokey eyes
When it comes to applying dark eyeshadows there is a fine line between eyes that look 'bruised' and eyes that smoulder. Obviously we all want smouldering, sleek eye makeup that enhances our natural features. Whether you have small, large, blue or brown a smokey eye can suit anyone as long as you know how to apply the makeup.

General Tips
- Make sure you invest in the right makeup brushes. Application is crucial for blending, contouring, and lasting longer!
- Cotton buds and Q-tips will be your best friend when it comes to smokey eyes. They can help you correct mistakes and clean up lines.
- Prime your eyes first. It will make the eyeshadow stay on longer and also make the colour more vivid.
- Choose colours that suit your eye colour (see below)
- Smokey eyes work best with a nude lip.
For blue eyes
- Too many dark colours can sometime overpower a blue eye so build up the colours gradually
- Shades of grey, brown, orange, purple, and silver look great with blue eyes
For brown eyes
- Dark colours work best for you - stick to black as the main colour for your smokey eye
- Bronzes, purples, champagnes, greens, corals can all be used as secondary colours to compliment a dark smokey eye
